A Dawning Apocalypse

As I lay on my torn up bed in a sewer in Darkwood Forest I can't help but ask myself "Alvara, how did you get yourself into this?" and I can't help but laugh, not a happy laugh, more like a masochistic type of laugh. This whole apocalyptic world can be blamed on me, every single hell demon can be blamed on me. I was a simple little scientist in a lab on an island few people know about. We were cloning extinct animals, dinosaurs of every kind, dodo birds, and anything you can think of. We were playing god. But they took it too far... the bastards started experimenting on humans, and I was their first WILLING guinea pig. They infused me with raptor DNA and immediately my body started to change, my eyes became raptor like and feathers as tough as steel grew from my arms and head, everyone would jokingly call me the "raptor queen". They immediately became addicted and started forcing the lower workers to be experimented on but they never turned out like me. They mutated into hideous creatures with mishapen heads, deformed bodies, and blade-like apendages where their arms used to be. They developed a lust for human blood and infected those who were touched by their blades. We had no choice but to keep them locked inside the lab while we began creating a cure... well, some of us. They mutants did one day break out and killed or infected everyone, luckily I escaped. Only later did I hear that a hero came and destroyed them, thats also when I heard of OTHER labs of our team had been doing experiments on apes in Oslane Swamp. They called these creatures shadow demons and demonites. These also developed a lust for human blood and killed off construction workers as well as the scientists, when I went to the swamp to investigate, the road was blocked off by bleeding walls so I decided it best to turn back. I had nowhere to go, so I escaped to Darkwood Forest but soon people began to go missing, and when I went to search for them I was threatened by visions of a large cat with a sail on its back controlling hoards of the undead. Thankfully it WAS defeated by the same hero.

Now the world has turned into an apocalypse. Most people are dead, there are deadly creatures running loose, and our supposed "hero" hasn't been seen in two years and the friendly aliens have left as well. All cities have crumbled and been repainted with human blood so I've take to living in a sewer, its relatively safe here despite a zombie wandering here and there. These zombies are easy to kill though.

This hero isn't the only SIGNIFICANT person I know who has gone missing, an old friend of mine went to investigate the lab where the "Rykov incident" took place and reportedly was transported to another dimension by some grey creature. I've also heard about some kind of blood shrine but I never know what to believe in these days. I know I should go looking for him, but I just don't care! He's probably dead like most people in this demon infested world, as long as I'm okay thats all that matters. I'm safe here. NOTHING CAN HURT ME!
