I've been looking through pages of paintings of goddesses and the Virgin Mary (lets be real, shes essentially a goddess) and I've noticed this gorgeous pattern. In a lot of these paintings they tend to stare at the viewer, strike a radiant pose (with focus on the position of their hands) and have some sort of bright glowing object behind them (usually the sun or the moon). I've come up with the idea of drawing various female characters to look like goddesses via their poses and surroundings. I won't be drawing DIRECT parallels to specific goddesses because it could potentially bother some people. Characters I'm thinking of drawing so far:

I haven't touched my story in probably 3 years, I want to be able to share it with the world exactly how I picture it in my mind. A troubled and broken yet outgoing and friendly protagonist, a war built not on good versus evil but one worldview versus another. A villain that isn't stereotypically dark and surrounded with the color black and thunderstorms, but a villain with emotions that feels what she is doing is right and actually be a character people can relate to somewhat.
